Bruges Contemporary Art and Architecture Triennial 2015
Bruges as a megapolis 20 May – 18 October 2015
This exclusive exhibition is centred around the current issue of global urbanisation. The timeless and unchanging nature that characterises the old Bruges is contrasted with the dynamism of fast-growing cities. Internationally renowned artists and architects from large and small towns will work using this theme. Through their imaginations you can discover both the positive and the negative consequences of the large-scale urbanisation.
Outdoor Art Trail – 18 artists
a healthy dose injection of urban dynamics into a small, historic city. Their interventions and installations are causes for reflection and wonder. They pose questions about the future and the potential of the city, about urbanisation, citizenship, lifestyle, community, economics, energy, space, sound and the values that guide us.
Indoor exhibition – 3 stunning venues
delve deeper into ‘the city’ and various aspects of urbanisation: visionary plans for urban renewal, photographs and videos of cities undergoing construction and demolition, scale models and designs for imaginary cities.
