Combining work and pleasure is always a treat. And that’s what I got last week, checking out the Creta Maris Beach Resort (www.maris.gr) on Crete, located at some 24 km from Heraklion International Airport. After a smooth check-in, a very nice and spacious room with sea view awaits us. The hotel is an all-inclusive, but of the five-star level. The legendary Greek friendliness is a truth here. Aficionados of a hearty breakfast will no doubt find their liking at this resort. Live cooking! For lunching or dining, you can pick one of the four restaurants of the resort. Cretan cuisine using only local produce. Sustainability is of paramount importance for the hotel management: use of eco-friendly cleaning products while carrying out environmental actions and activities.
After two days of relaxing, I have a working meeting with the PR manager and sales manager of the resort. Two friendly ladies who are passionate about their job. After talking about my company ‘Event Online’ and the Creta Maris Beach Resort, we explore the vast premises in a golf cart, including the meeting facilities at the adjoining convention centre (www.conference-greece.com). The latter is one of the biggest convention areas that I’ve seen. The convention centre “Creta Maris’ indeed covers an area of 6,000 square meters and is equipped with 68 rooms that can accommodate up to 5,500 conference delegates. Ideal for both large and small conferences and, combined with the resort, a prime location for MICE activities.
