Scandic Grand Place hotel in Brussels is taking a stand in raising awareness regarding trafficking and prostitution taking place at hotels, by initiating a collaboration together with the Swedish organization and the initiative they started to support hotels; Hotels Against Trafficking. The staff has participated in a workshop in order to receive support and knowledge to integrate trafficking-awareness. The hotel has also created a check-list on how to become more aware in order to minimize this problem.
“It was very interesting and uplifting to meet with Scandic Grand Place in Brussels during the workshop. We consider this first collaboration with a Brussels Hotel as both exciting and as a milestone as we see that there is a great potential and also a need for support for hotels and other business sectors to learn about and to integrate trafficking issues in the corporate social responsibility and among the employers” – says Malin Roux, founder of Realstars.
RealStars also work with education and outreach activities with the following goal; “RealStars aims to achieve a better world, a world free from trafficking. The message is Fair Sex, meaning that sex should take place on equal terms, with no coercion or violence, and that this should apply in every situation and to every person in the world. Trafficking and prostitution are antonyms of Fair Sex and must be fought in every way”.
