22nd edition of Antwerp Diner raises 159,324 euros for charity

The benefit dinner, now in its 22nd year, which raises money for AIDS and HIV research and prevention, took place at Antwerp Expo this year.

Antwerp’s top chefs gave their best on the evening and provided a gourmet menu. Each year, Antwerp Diner can count on an enthusiastic team of volunteers and partners. This year, behind the cooker were Gino Lemmens (Les Années Folles), Andy Decremer (Fiera), Wesley Debord(Madonna), Dennis Broeckx (Butcher’s Dining), Thomas Diepersloot (Fine Fleur), Simon Van Dun (DIM DINING), Tim Meuleneire (Franq), Frederic Van Tricht, Francesco de Candia(Francesco & Julia), and Tom Bossuyt (A Room with a ZOO – Elisabeth catering).

Main prizes of the raffle included a signed chef’s vest from all the chefs present (with a voucher to eat at their restaurants), a trip to Curaçao, and stays at luxury hotels in Barcelona, Athens and Cannes.

Together with the auction of a number of artworks (good for proceeds of 61000 euros), the evening raised a handsome 159324 euros to benefit Sensoa, The Institute of Tropical Medicine and Tomorrow4Isibani. Besides a gourmet dinner, the 693 guests also had the chance to see some top artists perform. Koen Crucke, Nathalie Meskens, Good Shape and Gene Thomas brought plenty of atmosphere. Masked Singer winner Aaron Blommaert closed the evening.

Antwerp Diner was founded in 1996 and can only exist thanks to the support of sponsors and numerous volunteers. For more information, please visit www.antwerp-diner.be or www.facebook.com/Antwerp.Diner.
