PRG throws the doors open for new talent

With the Warehouse Sessions initiative, PRG wants to get in touch with young promising artists who are taking their first steps in the music industry. The lucky, but mostly talented acts that PRG gave the opportunity to were ILA, Ramkot, Bluai, Brent Beukelaar, Isaac Roux, Earth to Daan, Loyd & Caspar Auwerkerke.

Eight up-and-coming bands got the chance to give a live showcase in the Tildonk PRG Warehouse. Not only did PRG’s initiative support the youngsters by providing them with high-end equipment and the chance to perform in optimal conditions, but also the high-quality recordings of the sessions (both in audio and video) were gladly provided to the bands for future promotional purposes.

For the very first edition, PRG welcomes talented bands ILA, Ramkot, Bluai, Brent Beukelaar, Isaac Roux, Earth to Daan, Loyd & Caspar Auwerkerke. All acts that, in one way or another, are knocking on the big doors of the scene – and PRG was only too happy to open the warehouse doors for them to show everyone why.

Ruben de Vleeschauwer, the initiator, stipulates: “This warehouse has a deep-rooted history in the music scene. Tons of material has been shipped there over the past three decades to festivals and music tours. The chosen location fits perfectly with this as the artists are immersed in a world of state-of-the-art gear and can get to know the PRG crew, their know-how and expertise.”

Overview bands

BLUAI: a 24-year-old singer-songwriter from Waasland, who started recording music on her own in her student room.

ILA: The moniker of 24-year-old singer-songwriter Ilayda Cicek. Her music is characterised by her unique voice and unadulterated emotions that unmask life’s contradictions. Expect a quirky, tender and honest artist accompanied by Cas Kinnaer (drums) and Sam Smeets

RAMKOT: This trio knows how to create songs with their own vision in which headbanging and dancing go hand in hand perfectly. Formed in late 2017 in Ghent, the Leyman brothers found in Hannes Cuyvers the perfect third brother to express their passion in their recognisable and compact
sound.

BRENT BEUKELAER: Also the voice and songwriter of The Radar Station. Under his own name, he has created an almost fairy-tale world in a collection of songs that sound like they come from a fairy-tale book.

AARDE AAN DAAN: is an expedition through the Dutch language in dreamy and colourful indie pop. From subdued and dreamy to grand and euphoric.

ISAAC ROUX: Isaac Roux is the singer-songwriter project of Louis De Roo, in which he mixes indie folk with dreamy electronica. Expect a flawless and impressive voice and a warm, minimalistic sound.

CASPAR AUWERKERKEN: Not a single song released yet, but already one of the most talked-about talents in the country: it’s not for everyone, but 22-year-old singer-songwriter Caspar Auwerkerken from Hasselt just does it.

LØYD: a Brussels-based producer known for his raw, conceptual and deviant electronic music. Through his art and music, he offers an uncomfortable reflection on contemporary society.
