Rooftop bar & restaurant Gaston welcomes guests to its sun-drenched terrace seven days a week in July and August. These summer days are already making guests dream of a sun-drenched rooftop terrace, including a beach, petanque court and impressive views. Gaston has all these assets and will open its doors on 3 July. One should not wait too long to book, as there is already a lot of interest in Ghent’s most beautiful terrace.
The “pioneer of all rooftops” opens on Monday 3 July and welcomes guests all summer long, from Monday to Sunday. Guests can enjoy a light lunch or a sumptuous dinner à la Gaston. When the weather is nice, guests can enjoy the spacious rooftop terrace and when the weather is changeable, the quirky restaurant offers a cosy atmosphere inside, with views of Ghent’s city centre and harbour. Throughout the day, guests are welcome for drinks and snacks on the beach, at the bar or by the petanque court. In other words, regardless of the weather forecast, guests can enjoy culinary delights and other forms of entertainment at Gaston in the afternoon and evening, both indoors and outdoors. Please note that reservations can and must be made at www.gaston-gent.be.
Gaston has some delicious dishes in store again this summer! The new summer menu can be found on the website. Guests can expect Gaston’s contemporary approach to Belgian-French classics, with extra attention to sustainability. The chef proposes a wide range of vegetarian and vegan dishes, avoids beef and carefully selects fish to avoid unnecessary bycatch. So the “catch of the day” is to be taken very literally at Gaston. As usual, the focus is on organic and local ingredients, in collaboration with VANIER and the Ghent Zuivelhoeve. The bread is supplied by the social organic bakery Compaan.
This season, guests can also enjoy some familiar dishes at Gaston, such as generous shrimp croquettes and a pluma of Belgian Duroc d’Olives. Also be surprised by the chef’s newcomers, such as the spicy vindaloo curry with puffed sweet potato or an Indian spiced ice cream with saffron and pistachio. For aperitif lovers, there is also an extensive choice of bar bites this season, ranging from oysters to croquettes with dipping sauce and wonton crackers with Gaston’s delectable guacaNOle.
Are you impatient already? Then book your table in advance here. See you soon?
PS. If you can’t get enough of summer, Coeur Catering has some other summer highlights in store: you can have brunch all day on the terrace of STAMcafé Gent or order and eat a picnic basket in the beautiful garden of De Bijloke. In the same garden, you can once again enjoy Gent Jazz and, a month later, Bijloke Wonderland. And if that’s not enough, during the Ghent Festivities you can feel free to visit St James’ Church next to Vlasmarkt, where Coeur Catering will be opening the JACOBAR for ten days: an oasis of peace in the midst of the festivities. A Duvel in the church? Why not!
