“When a baker meets a hotelier…”
It has now been four months since B&B HVN10 Stabroek opened its doors. HVN10 has since become an established place in Strabroek. Guests from all corners of Europe have found their way to the B&B.
The story began in 2021. After two years of renovation, Baker Greg De Schutter was able to make his dream come true. An old farmhouse on the Torense Weg in Stabroek, in the middle of the Polders with a view of the skyline of the port of Antwerp, converted into a luxury B&B.
“The building has 9 spacious rooms and 1 flat of no less than 110 m2,” Greg explains. “When the end of the works was in sight, I urgently needed a partner to help me run the B&B,” De Schutter continues.
In March 2023, Pierre van den Broek, hotel manager with over 27 years’ experience in the industry, came into the picture. “After a long and exciting period at a hotel chain, the farm was love at first sight,” Pierre says. “.When Greg approached me, the choice was quickly made. A new challenge I could sink my teeth into,” Van den Broek continues. “Here we can grow old together,” both partners say in chorus.
Meanwhile, the HVN10 team has expanded and Lieve Calle looks after events and groups.
“We are busy preparing for activities in spring. HVN10 is ideally located for cyclists and walkers. Four-legged friends are also more than welcome,” says Lieve. “The Kalmthoutse Heide is only 10 minutes away,” says Lieve Calle.
HVN10 has 2 halls suitable for a variety of events. “Guests can hire the hall and arrange everything themselves or we take care of the catering. The rooms are ideal for receptions, lectures, training and team meetings” according to Lieve.
“Companies sometimes hire both rooms to conduct internal negotiations between certain departments. And of course they can enjoy closing drinks afterwards,” concludes Lieve Calle
