Molenhoftalks receives top performer Daan De Wever

As tradition now dictates, Molenhof Talks was once again a very successful event on February 21 in Villa Molenhof in Roosdaal. After all, they once again had a ‘well-known’ entrepreneur as their guest and not the first, the best. Well, Daan De Wever, CEO of technology and telecom player Dstny.

Daan De Wever spoke without disguise about the unusual beginnings of Dstny. The initiative came from his brother Samuel, who was 15 years old at the time. Older brother Daan joined the adventure without really understanding what it was about and what market potential there actually was. In the beginning, Daan was literally the driver on duty.

The CEO of Dstny is also not shy about admitting that things were a bit shaky a few times in the first few years and that the company was once virtually bankrupt. With a lot of luck, but especially with a lot of courage and swagger, the difficult opening years were overcome and the foundation was laid for exceptionally strong growth in the years that followed. Dstny is the European top performer
cloudtelecom is currently conquering the American market and this with the (financial) support of one of the largest European venture capital funds, the APAX Partners.

Daan De Wever also went into detail about the how and why of the cycling sponsorship of the Lotto team. Contrary to what most Belgians would expect, Dstny looks at cycling objectively and soberly as a purely business decision, which will certainly influence future decisions.

During the networking with a walking dinner, the many attendees were able to exchange ideas about a number of statements by the charming, smooth guest speaker, Daan De Wever. A worthy and, above all, delicious end to a very successful and inspiring evening.

On Thursday, April 24, 2024, Molenhof Talks will receive Philippe Gijsels (Chief Strategy Officer – BNP Paribas Fortis) who will talk about his recently published book with Koen de Leus, “The New World Economy”. How to invest in times of superinflation, hyperinnovation and climate transition.
