Led by Thijs de Smedt, the Crowne Plaza Antwerp team has proudly launched their own gin: “ginne zever”. Located at Gerard le Grellelaan 10, 2020 Antwerp, this iconic hotel is perfectly positioned just outside the city centre, close to the motorway towards the Netherlands and Brussels. In addition to meeting, accommodation and relaxation options in the pool and wellness, Crowne Plaza Antwerp also offers a range of activities that revolve entirely around experiencing Antwerp itself. The cooperation with Antwerp’s artisanal brewery Strong Distillers also contributes to this, all department heads of the hotel composed this gin during an inspiring gin workshop. With no fewer than 16 refined flavours, such as apple, hibiscus, orange blossom, violet, raspberry, lemon myrtle, lychee, liquorice, and cardamom, “ginne zever” offers a surprising and unique taste experience.
The choice of these 16 flavour components is no accident; they symbolise the hotel’s 16 floors. The name of the gin also clearly reflects the Antwerp character, as the hotel is steeped in the city’s atmosphere and culture. With this gin, Crowne Plaza Antwerp aims to embrace its Antwerp identity even more strongly. The hotel is a vibrant part of the city, and we want to celebrate that. The bottle of “ginne zever” is available in a 500ML format with a powerful alcohol content of 38%. You can taste and experience this gin at the restaurant ANNA, or obtain it as a gift in a smaller format at the hotel for special occasions. Moreover, the restaurant will present its own cocktail with this gin, the recipe of which is a well-kept secret for now.
