In 2009, Van der Valk Verviers opened its doors in the former customs warehouse after 15 months of renovation work. It was a project spearheaded by the Wohrmann couple that quickly became a huge success. Since 2009, the Van der Valk Verviers has hosted a large number of events, weddings, seminars and conferences.
At the cutting edge of technology, in 2009 the Hotel Verviers was the most environmentally-friendly hotel in Belgium. In 2024, the establishment is still at the cutting edge on the subject, having been awarded the Green Key label.
