Crowne Plaza Antwerp, widely recognised as a key player in hosting MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) events, is proud to announce the opening of its fully renovated convention centre ‘The Docks’. This renovation, carried out in close cooperation with Raiar Interior Architects, sets a new standard for conference facilities in Antwerp. Earlier this year, the meeting rooms on the 16th floor, with unique views over Antwerp, were also completely renovated.
The renovation of ‘The Docks’, located on the ground floor of the hotel, was inspired by Antwerp’s historic docks. This theme comes to life in the sophisticated storytelling concept woven throughout the meeting space, from paintings about the port off Antwerp to docks on the outdoor terrace. With a capacity to host up to 600 people in theatre style, ‘The Docks’ offers a unique and versatile venue for both local and international events.
To take the meeting experience to the next level, the space is equipped with the latest technological gadgets, including an impressive 8-metre-wide screen, plug-and-play systems and the ability to fully customise events with the organising company’s corporate identity. All meeting rooms are equipped with flipcharts and other essential materials to ensure an efficient meeting. For the Crowne Plaza team, the revamped environment is obviously also a source of motivation.
A striking feature of the renovation is the use of blue in both ‘The Docks’ and the hotel rooms. This colour refers to the sky and emphasises the hotel’s iconic presence in the Antwerp skyline, easily visible to anyone travelling to the Netherlands or Brussels.
In addition, Crowne Plaza Antwerp installed a completely new coffee corner and chose carpets with a particularly sustainable character. ‘These carpets are completely recycled, a conscious choice,’ says Mathieu Van Welden, General Manager of Crowne Plaza Antwerp. ‘We want to commit ourselves as a company to take the first steps towards a more sustainable operational policy. The collaboration with Composil was unique in this respect. We saved 1,000 square metres of carpet tiles from production, resulting in a reduction of 10,000 kilograms of CO2 emissions. These collected floor coverings were renewed by Composil ReUse in a certified manner, allowing them to continue their life cycle in a sustainable way.
Crowne Plaza Antwerp invites you to experience this brand new facility and discover the future of meetings and events in Antwerp.
