UFI, the global organisation of exhibitions and salons, recently published its latest Global Exhibition Barometer. And it looks good as the report expects strong revenue growth and a stable or even growing workforce. The biggest adjustments are expected in the area of technology, with the influence of AI.
UFI releases a sector report twice a year with a kind of ‘state of affairs’ taking the pulse of the industry. This 33rd edition concluded in July 2024 and includes data from 453 companies in 68 countries and regions.
The results in the report show that the stock market sector expects to post record global turnovers in 2024, which would surpass the post-pandemic recovery achieved on average at the end of 2023.
Globally, 48% of companies say they plan to expand their workforce in the next six months, while another 48% say they will keep their current workforce stable.
‘State of the economy in the home market’ is the most pressing issue (22% of responses globally), followed by “Global economic developments” (15% of responses).
Everyone agrees that AI will have an impact on the industry, with 90% of companies indicating this and a growing proportion of companies reporting that they are already actively using this new technology.
