Het Witte Paard in Blankenberge always packs musical ambiance and breathtaking acts, yet each show has its own story and target audience. As a result, each show is different and surprising. For the second edition of the winter revue, ‘WINTER WONDERLAND’, which will have its grand premiere on Saturday 13 December, Het Witte Paard will take on a challenge unseen in the variety world.
Sasha Rosen & Davy Gilles will tell about their lives and careers in a very personal and funny way, topped with a whole dash of winter atmosphere. This is how Het Witte Paard is venturing into the very first autobiographical variety show, a first. In typical revue style – full of hilarious humour and mild self-mockery – Sasha & Davy look back on more than twenty years together.
Davy Gilles: ‘Life is serious enough, so we don’t have to be. We dig through our memories, and package it in a unique variety show. Autobiographical variety show’ is perhaps a bit of an exaggeration, it is above all a super-varied winter revue in the very best tradition. Ambiance guaranteed!
Sasha Rosen: ‘It will be a warm variety show full of musical highlights. Great stories and small anecdotes will form a common thread throughout a show that will never stop, also featuring international acrobats, wonderfully beautiful dancers and the fantastic singing voices of Anke Goergen, Lissa Lewis and Maarten Cox.’
The White Horse will be given a winter decoration for the occasion. Producer Ben Van den Keybus and production manager Martijn Claes stress that it is not a Christmas show, but rather a winter revue: ‘We wrap everything in a cheerful, wintery sauce – appropriate to the time of year – and thus ensure an unforgettable experience. Christmas music plays only a small part in an incredibly varied show. Our mission? To see everyone leave the theatre with a big smile on their face afterwards.’
Davy Gilles: ‘It may be cold outside, but inside The White Horse we bring a heartwarming show. Now that I visit more often in the winter months, I know that Blankenberge is also a very nice destination in winter. Walking along the beach in peace and quiet, warming up over a hot chocolate, passing by the Christmas market and plenty of parking space? I highly recommend it’.
There are both afternoon shows (14h30) and evening shows (20h30), between 7 December and 19 January. Order tickets at www.witte-paard.be or call 070 250 200.
