At the end of 2024, Very Food Catering set a milestone in its growth. After 17 years working in rented premises in Deinze, the company moved to its own fully renovated premises in Gavere. This new location marks an important step in the company’s development, says managing director Niki Claes, who also explains the benefits for the team and future growth.
A well-considered move
The decision to move was prompted by the strong growth the company has experienced in recent years. Our previous premises in Deinze simply became too small,’ Niki explains. After a careful search, Gavere was chosen as the new location. In February 2023, we started working out the plans together with kitchen builders KitchCo/Bumaco. In the summer, renovation work began and in January 2024 we were officially able to move to the new location.’
Sustainability as a spearhead
The renovation had a strong focus on sustainability. The building was given an EPC A label thanks to the installation of 340 solar panels, eco-friendly cork flooring and charging points for both visitors and staff. We also paid attention to ergonomics and daylight, which contributes to the well-being of our team,’ says Niki. In addition, sanitary facilities were significantly improved, with nine toilets and showers for staff.
A kitchen that impresses
The kitchen is the heart of the new location. We now have four separate cold rooms for specific products and a separate cold room for finished dishes,’ Niki explains. ‘Our kitchen has a much better layout and offers an optimal workflow. It’s great to be able to work in this new environment.
Improved logistics and additional opportunities
The new building also offers logistical advantages. ‘We have more space for storage and crockery, and the logistics are much better organised now,’ Niki says. ‘We can also organise our own events at the new location, such as tastings in our demo room or team-buildings in the meeting room overlooking the garden.’
Ready for the future
With its new home base, Very Food Catering is setting course for further growth. ‘This property gives us the space and opportunities to take our business to the next level,’ Niki concludes. ‘It provides space not only for our growing team, but also for new commercial activities. We look forward to the future with confidence.
