For the record, our home base for the 2020 edition of #micellorca is already fixed, namely ‘Gran Hotel Son Net’. However, I am an entrepreneur at heart and I always think ahead. That is why ‘Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel’ comes into view. After all, recently I had the opportunity to discover this beautiful venue. I had agreed with María Avellaned, Sales Manager of the Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa, that I would arrive by bike. A nice drive from the north of Mallorca towards Port de Soller, a small village and also the port of the city of Sóller.
When I arrived at the hotel after a ride of about 90km, I was kindly met by a host. The lady in question was aware of my arrival. She addressed me by my name and gave me a refreshing towel and a bottle of water. Detail: ecological packaging throughout the hotel. So no disposables or plastic, on the contrary, only reusable material.
After my check-in, I had a short conversation with María Avellaned. This was followed by a site inspection. So, I first changed my clothes. However, my room was not ready yet, as it was mid-season, but this was not a problem because I could shower and change in the Talise Spa.
The site inspection was really more than a successful discovery, this venue had long been on my bucket list. The location is overwhelming without exaggeration! Especially the infinity pool with a view over the port of Port de Soller is impressive! After all, Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa crowns the cliffs of Port de Sóller, balancing between the Tramuntana Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea on the unspoilt northwest coast of Mallorca.
Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa is a high-end venue for leisure, but also an absolute MICE destination. The event facilities at Jumeirah Port Soller therefore are top-notch. Each event room is equipped with high-tech equipment and filled with natural light, while guests enjoy the view of the beautiful surroundings. The dedicated event team is available to meet all needs and ensures a seamless event experience. The Jumeirah Ballroom is the largest indoor location of the hotel, perfect for product launches. An elegant ballroom with a 180° panorama from the mountains to the sea can accommodate up to 200 people, or 156 in banquet setup. The Sóller, Fornalutx and Deià meeting rooms are named after local mountain villages and are smaller rooms. Sóller and Fornalutx can be connected to each other and have a private terrace, the perfect location for a coffee break. Deià is ideal for business meetings. The multifunctional Tramuntana terrace also offers a pleasant outdoor setting on the 6th floor, where up to 100 guests can sit in banquet setup. The 240 m² space is especially popular for weddings, barbecues and gala dinners due to the incredible views of the mountains, the harbor and the sea.
Therefore, it’s nice that the hotel management is interested in the concept of #micellorca. After all, we have a decent, but still limited budget to work with.
I was then offered a lunch with a view of the Mediterranean Sea. A breathtaking panorama while the lunch was absolute perfection. The sea bass in salt crust stilled my appetite after the intense bike ride.
Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa offers many possibilities as a base for #micellorca21 with the Puig Major as a permanent backdrop.
Finally, something about my room: a ‘luxury mountain view’ room. My only comment: I want to return as soon as possible!
