Domaine de Rymska … I visited this top location for the second time, and I dare say … the owner has been diligent! Moreover, in this guesthouse ‘Hospitality’ is no doubt written with a capital ‘H’!
So far, I’ve stayed overnight in many different hotels, but Domaine de Rymska is one of those places that offers that little extra. This time, I visited the domain in the late Fall, when the vines are no longer as green, nevertheless this season emerges the Burgundy region in a picturesque pallet which provides beautiful scenes.
Located in rural Saint-Jean-de-Trésy, this guesthouse only opened its doors in February 2018 after a four-year renovation. Online it seems already promising, but in real life, it is even better.
A few years ago, when farmer and horse breeder Eric Feurtet had the opportunity to buy the property next to his estate, he didn’t hesitate. Instead of demolishing the ruined country house, he realized its charm and decided to renovate it into a guesthouse. The results are impressive. Rymska guesthouse has three rooms and two suites, as well as a restaurant where customers come to dine from as far as 80 km away!
As a guest you immediately feel welcomed in this guesthouse, because you are cared for extremely well. For example, my racing clothes were washed after cycling, and my clothes were ironed, without any additional costs, while the perfect service always goes with a genuine smile.
Compared to my previous visit, both breakfast and dinner have been raised to an even higher level. The kitchen is ruled by Jérémie Muller, a chef who has worked in the best restaurants in France. He mainly cooks with products from the domain. There are four menus from which you can choose. The menus vary between 49 and 96 euros. Everything runs smoothly in the dining room, a top service under the watchful eye of the owner. Are you a wine lover? Then you’ve come to the right place at Rymska! There is a top sommelier who helps you choose the right wine that goes well with your meal. The lady in question also has a lot of experience, as you quickly will notice.
I also had a short chat with the owner, and he had big news. Rymska will expand with three new suites by the beginning of 2020 and two extra suites by the end of next year. By that time, a brand new super deluxe wellness will be added as well.
So much to look forward to, but above all a perfect excuse for me to return in 2020! – Wood Approved!
