This year, the historic castle estate offers a varied and exciting range of activities and events for visitors of all ages. From art exhibitions and musical events to adventure quests for children, Alden Biesen promises an unforgettable summer.
Summer exhibition – Ann Van Hoey: Clay, colour, shape
Throughout the summer months, visitors can enjoy a special collection of ceramics by renowned ceramicist Ann Van Hoey. Her refined and award-winning creations will be exhibited in the Water Castle of Alden Biesen, where her latest works can also be admired.
Summer tours
Every weekend in July and August, Alden Biesen offers guided tours that anyone can join on the spot, revealing the rich history of the castle grounds. The tours start at 13:00 and 14:30 each time and offer an insight into the history of this unique location.
Summer quest – Treasures of Fly
For children aged 6 to 12, there is an exciting quest on the theme of tasting. “Treasures of Fly” offers young adventurers an interactive and educational experience, where they discover the domain in a playful way.
Cracking Brooms
Join witch Lira and wizard Sem in their search for the lost brooms. This activity combines play and discovery, giving the whole family a fun way to explore the domain.
Piano Lab – Opening concert
Piano Lab is a piano stage for young, promising, high-level international pianists. The stage starts with an opening public concert on Saturday. This event offers music lovers the chance to hear internationally renowned teachers play.
Trans Limburg Trail
The first edition of this landscape walk connects the castle of Hoensbroek (NL) with Alden Biesen. With distances of 15, 35 and even 65 km, this trail offers a challenge for hikers of all levels.
Intra Muros Festival
This international open-air festival brings music from the Middle Ages to the French Revolution to life. Visitors can enjoy early music in the beautiful setting of Alden Biesen.
Sparkling Sounds
A summer musical festival with a sixties theme. With live music and food trucks, this event will be a feast for the senses, perfect for a summer day out.
All Go Rhythm – Musical Holiday
This 5-day sound adventure for children aged 6 to 12 is now full, but promises a fantastic experience for the young participants.
