On Wednesday 4 December, the 25th edition of the Belgian Event Awards took place at the BMCC in Bruges. The event agencies CityCubes, Pink Piñata Productions, Sylvester and The Media House were the big laureates of the evening, as they took home the four golden BEAs of the competition. These prizes were awarded during an impressive award show – organised by meetmarcel – in which the rest of the city was also involved.
Bruges, 4 December 2024 – The exciting conclusion of the BEA Awards has yielded a golden award for CityCubes, Pink Piñata Productions, Sylvester and The Media House.
Gold for creative pop-up
The best B2B event of the past year was ‘Boss Art Deco’, a project in which CityCubes created a custom-made pop-up art gallery for BOSS Paints. The ‘Future Menus’ event by New Balls Please for Unilever took silver in this category, and the bronze went to the Funfair edition of ‘Techorama’.
Successful book festival
With eight finalists, B2C events was the busiest category this year. Pink Piñata Productions transformed Kortrijk Expo into a colourful book paradise for young and old during ‘Boektopia 2023’, and has now been rewarded with a gold BEA. With the floating car show ‘MINI Big Love Boat’, CityCubes was the runner-up here. The podium of the B2C category was completed by the expo ‘Door De Wind’ by Toerisme Oostende.
Sylvester conquers B2E gold
In the Business-to-Employees category, Sylvester Productions took home the main prize. ‘ONSTAGE’ was a grand show for almost 5,000 Telenet employees. KonseptS was rewarded for ‘You Make Us Rock’, an out-of-the-box staff party for P&V. The bronze went to Hemera, which ensured an unforgettable 60th anniversary of Heuschen & Schrouff Oriental Food.
Successful home match for The Media House
The Media House won the gold award in its own city for Institutional Events. The Bruges agency was responsible for a number of striking events around the Opening of Stapelhuis Entrepot in the Port of Ostend. The jury also rewarded the collaboration between CityCubes and Sylvester for the FTI Slotfestival (silver), as well as the Velo-city project by Event Masters for the City of Ghent (bronze).
Well-attended case presentations in BMCC
This BEA competition 2024 traditionally started in the summer. After an online preliminary round, the selected agencies were invited to the BMCC during the final day on 3 December, where the final projects were presented to a professional jury of corporate event managers. These presentations were attended on site by 350 event professionals, corporates and students. After a day full of presentations, the jury retired to deliberate on the final winners.
Connection with the entire city
On Wednesday evening it was time for the denouement: the award show in the BMCC, which was attended by around 1100 guests. Organising agency meetmarcel wanted to emphasise authentic impact and the connection that the event sector can create. Not only between companies and their customers, but also with society. That is why the entire city was involved in the event, including a spectacular laser projection between the BMCC and the city towers. The music of Jef Neve was also played by the carillon players.
More than 50 partners
As every year, the BEA show is an event that involves a great many hands. Meetmarcel was supported by more than 50 motivated partners from the event sector. This resulted in a spectacular evening where the 1100 guests could enjoy unique culinary experiences, impressive artists and a swinging afterparty in addition to the awards show.
See you in Brussels!
“These 25th BEA Awards have fulfilled all their promises”, according to BEA co-organiser Jean-Paul Talbot. “They have once again demonstrated that our country has a very dense network of agencies that master the delicate art of putting creativity at the service of companies and people. Thanks to meetmarcel, the jury and all BEA partners, Bruges was buzzing. With great enthusiasm, we are now turning our gaze to Brussels, where our next two editions will take place.”
