Think you know Brussels? It might be time to think again! Brussels is the number one city in the world for hosting international meetings of associations. But besides its excellent reputation for efficiency, accessibility and high sustainability standards, the Belgian capital is also home to an array of spectacular new and unusual venues.
There are many reasons why Brussels attracted more international association meetings last year than anywhere else: location, accessibility, sustainability, reliability, first-class venues and the many institutions with headquarters in the city. But this modern, stylish capital has also embraced the digital age, offering increasingly connected mobile services and venues with improved hybrid and audio-visual facilities. In line with the growing urban trend of pop-up venues, several spaces are repurposed to add an exciting twist to an event.
With a range of stylish and unusual new venues recently opened, the city is more exciting for events than ever before.

Sparks
Just a stone’s throw from Central Station, this new multifunctional venue offers clean, contemporary lines, playful touches and an abundance of creativity. It also offers a variety of flexible event packages.
Mix Brussels
Located in a brutalist tower that was once IBM’s headquarters in Europe, this meticulously renovated venue offers three restaurants including the Fox food court, a four-star hotel with 180 rooms and 15 meeting rooms, including an auditorium for 300 people and a high-level gym plus wellness: a mix of activities, therefore, that clarifies the name.
The Hoxton Brussels
Located in a brutalist tower that was once IBM’s headquarters in Europe, this new boutique hotel offers funky interiors inspired by the 1970s, a double-height lobby, bar and restaurant inspired by Peruvian cuisine, 198 bedrooms and great views from the rooftop terrace with Mexican cocktails and interior. As with Mix Brussels, you can enjoy the terrace and restaurant at Hoxton Brussels even without taking a room.
Belgian Beer World
Belgian beer has UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage status, so it makes sense that it has a wonderful new home to celebrate its importance. Belgian Beer World opened in September to coincide with the long-awaited redevelopment of the magnificent Belgian Stock Exchange and offers excellent opportunities for event organisers, including a spectacular 350 m² Skybar, a stylish brasserie on the ground floor and a separate space for receptions.
Rooftop 58
Brussels is home to many rooftop terrace locations with fantastic views. Rooftop 58, on the other hand, boasts Europe’s largest rooftop terrace and breathtaking panoramas of the city. It is located in the heart of the city and can be partially booked for groups.
Capital of Art Nouveau Brussels 2023
And if all these locations are a bit too contemporary for your taste, Brussels is home to nearly 1,000 Art Nouveau buildings. The city marks the 130th anniversary of the opening of Victor Horta’s famous Tassel House in 1893 with an exciting programme of events this year, making it the ideal time to explore the elegant facades and opulent interiors – think stained glass, mosaics and wrought iron – of this architectural style. The Art Nouveau masterpieces Hotel Solvay, Hotel Van Eetvelde and the Hannon House have recently been renovated and are now open to the public.
