Dominique Jansen is Director Sales & Marketing of Radisson Blu Astrid Hotel and Park Inn in Antwerp and represents all Belgian hotels of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group on the destionation booth of VISITFLANDERS here at IBTM World in Barcelona.
“In Belgium our Group is represented by three brands, i.e. Radisson Blu, Radisson Red and Park Inn. Currently, we have three hotels in Brussels, two in Antwerp, two in Spa, and one in Leuven, Liège and Hasselt.” A hotel group in full expansion it seems. “We are expanding indeed. Quite recently, we opened a beautiful new Red Radisson Hotel in Brussels. A true scoop because it was the first in the world. A great funky brand, with a great concept in terms of perception and catering,” said Dominique Jansen.
There will also be a new Park Inn at the airport in Zaventem. The Park Inn Brussels Airport. “At the end of the first quarter of next year, the hotel will open its doors. Equipped with 162 rooms and 9 conference rooms this is a new major player on the Brussels market for us”, explains the Director of Sales & Marketing. It moves a lot on the Belgian market. In Hasselt also a Park Inn will open soon and the Radisson Blu in Antwerp will be completely renovated. Furthermore, a Park Inn will be built in Berchem as well. “So a lot of new hotels in Belgium which indicates we continue to be very active on the Belgian market.”
The opening of FMCCA, the new convention center in Antwerp also means an extra boost for both Radisson Blu and Park Inn by Radisson Antwerp, as both hotels are within walking distance from the new convention center. “Around the Central Station soon a new cool neighborhood will emerge. When all the construction work there is finalized, this neighborhood will become a new hotspot in town. We’re going to completely renovate the Radisson Blu in Antwerp: rooms, meeting rooms, restaurant, etc. By the end of 2017, we will have a completely new product. When the convention is in full swing, we are ready to welcome the many international guests,” added Dominique Jansen.
