Do you still have space on your bucket list? Then pay a visit to the Ligurian coast! An Italian region bordering France in the west. This coastal region is best known for Portofino. Portofino is a small port town on the Italian Riviera, in the province of Genoa. The port of Portofino is also labeled as one of the most beautiful on the Mediterranean. As a base, hotel Cenobio dei dogi is the best choice … After all, the location is perfect, not too busy and yet centrally located. In the hotel you are only 20 minutes away from the picturesque Portofino.
Cenobio dei dogi stands for quality. In short, from arrival to departure, it’s a place where you want to be and where service is of paramount importance. Hospitality in its smallest details. There was a drizzle at my arrival. No worries though, because on both sides of the car there were parking attendants with an umbrella waiting for me and my traveling companion.
The charming ladies at the reception desk checked us in quickly and effectively, while the car was parked, and our luggage brought to our room. By the way, I was assigned the same room as before, thoughtfully not? Result: frontal sea view and a super panorama of the idyllic village of Camogli. The rooms are what you expect from this region. Sometimes you have the impression that you are walking around on an Italian film set and that you could bump into Monica Bellucci or Sophia Loren at any moment. No lounge styling, but rather a vintage romantic style. Che figata!
The hotel has three different restaurants where you can dine with a view on the coastline. My preference goes to ‘Le Playa’, the territory of maître Allesandro, who has been running the place for more than 15 years, with an eye for detail and that self-evident Italian flair! The Ligurian cuisine is very light. Many fresh fish are offered, such as dorade, sea bass, and turbot. You can also choose from different cooking methods. Top quality on your plate with a view of the sun that gently disappears in the mountains … Enjoying life to the fullest!
Breakfast is served in a large room with a panoramic view on Camogli. Of course, it’s a comprehensive morning buffet to start the day: fresh fruit, croissants, different kinds of muesli, eggs, various types of bread, various teaspoons, cappuccino, espresso, you name it! The service is also done in great style, the maître runs around in a white tuxedo and the waiters are dressed in a black suit with bowtie! I honestly did not expect anything else …
The hotel also has many facilities for MICE activities. Cenobio dei Dogi features seven different meeting rooms equipped with all necessary technical equipment, including hospitality desk and business center.
In short, Cenobio dei Dogi is a high-end hotel, but it’s worth the money. From start to finish you are spoiled. – Wood Approved!
