Ecco La Luna presents Street Olympics

In the year of the 2024 Olympics, Ecco La Luna is introducing a new concept that can bring the Olympic spirit to any city and its surroundings. Street Olympics is a team-building activity with an Olympic twist, where sportswear is not required.

Street Olympics is an interactive game designed for groups of 5 to over 1,000 participants, using Ecco La Luna’s Mobile Adventures app, the same app used for the agency’s online team building and city games. “The idea is for teams of five to six people to explore the area,” says Ecco La Luna’s Hans Vanooteghem. “This can be a city, park or even an indoor location. During this exploration, participants unlock various questions and tasks related to both the historical and contemporary Olympic Games. It includes a mix of trivia questions and creative playful photo and video tasks that require interaction with the environment. For example, one possible video assignment is to create a synchronised swimming choreography, which we will try to place near a fountain or pond. It is up to the participants to be creative with what the location has to offer.”

Sharing and projecting fun images

The photos and videos taken are immediately sent to the gamemaster and judged live. “Teams can track each other’s progress in the app, which enhances competition. However, during the last half-hour, scores are hidden to keep the denouement exciting. After one or two hours – depending on the option chosen – all teams are brought back to one location. The concluding activity varies depending on the location. For example, in a hotel meeting room, we can project a selection of photos and videos. We also always offer an online gallery where the images can be easily shared. The highlight, of course, is the announcement of the final results, with the winning teams receiving prizes.”

Customised interpretation

Street Olympics is a fun activity that can be customised to suit the client’s needs. “It is more about creativity than physical exertion. The aim is not to do things as fast as possible, but to have a good time together and be creative. So it is seen as a relaxing activity accessible to everyone. We have a well-developed standard game that can be played anywhere, but we can of course adapt the tasks to the client’s wishes and the possibilities of the environment. Teams can play the game on their own smartphones, but if required we can also provide iPads,” concludes Hans Vanooteghem.
