IHG Hotels & Resorts partners with Living Tomorrow to continue growth of voco hotels with first acquisition in Belgium

IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, is pleased to announce the acquisition of voco Brussels City North, entering a new market. The first of its kind in Belgium, voco Brussels City North will focus on innovation, symbolising the future of the hospitality industry.

Voco hotels is one of IHG’s newest and most successful brands and has also become IHG’s fastest growing upscale brand, doing so at a faster pace than others within IHG’s portfolio.

IHG is delighted to be partnering with Living Tomorrow, an international research organisation that specialises in bringing innovative projects to fruition – particularly projects around living and working in the future.

The 92-room voco Brussels City North hotel will open in autumn 2023 and will be operated by Prem Group, a strong partner of IHG in the region. The ultra-modern hotel will have a restaurant and conference centre and will be adjacent to the Innovation Centre, already open on campus, to create a hub for innovation in hospitality and a stimulating environment.

Located in the north of the city (Vilvoorde), the hotel will consist of a striking 50-metre tower with glass windows offering panoramic views of the Brussels skyline. The campus itself will be Europe’s largest experimental laboratory for creating ideas and a vision for the future. In line with the philosophy of voco hotels, voco Brussels City North will stand out from the crowd and offer guests a different choice.

A key part of voco’s offering for owners is the pace at which hotels can be converted to IHG systems, allowing them to benefit quickly on a global scale and maximise their returns.

Voco Hotels is now present in more than 15 countries. There have been 40 openings and 34 more properties in the pipeline since voco hotels launched in 2018. In Europe alone, 15 hotels are currently open and another 14 are in the pipeline.

IHG is on track with its target of delivering 200 hotels within 10 years of launch, with the brand well positioned to capture more and more conversion opportunities as independent owners seek the power of this brand and its systems.
