Marseille cannot be left out of the news. Within six months, the city will host the Rugby World Cup and within 18 months, the Olympic Games sailing competitions will take place here! But because tourism should not be detrimental to our environment and quality of life, Marseille has chosen to promote sustainable tourism in the context of these major events.
In fact, the 2024 Olympics will be the first ecologically responsible games and one of the conditions set by the organising committee was that the games’ hotels had the Green Key eco-label. This label is recognised worldwide and has already been awarded to more than 3,700 accommodations in 60 countries. Marseille has been committed to complying with the criteria of this label since 2020. Currently, the city has as many as 33 Green Key hotels, more than any other French city!
One of the hotels with the label is Maison du Monde, a hotel that opened in 2019 on the Vieux-Port. Since a few weeks, here you can live like a real Marseillean in one of the 16 flats in the heart of Marseille. You will stay in the middle of the shopping district and a stone’s throw from the Vieux-Port. cordial atmosphere.
All rooms are cosily decorated, making you feel immediately at home and able to fully enjoy bustling Marseille during a medium or long stay. Perfect for tourists or business travellers who want to explore the city independently. If you are organising a seminar, you can also offer dinner provided by Marseille chefs, or wine and pastis tastings in a welcoming atmosphere.
And during the day, you can organise lovely walks with yoga sessions, kayaking trips or electric mountain bike rides in the Parc National des Calanques, respecting the fauna and flora of this protected area.
Marseille is the ideal location for a unique, sustainable and unforgettable event, and by tgv you can get there in just a few hours.
