New: quality label for air purification plants – BESA

Since 18 May 2024, air purification systems must have a label from the FPS Public Health. So be sure to choose an installation with the right accreditations if you want to invest in such a system!

The corona crisis definitely put indoor air quality on the radar, not only in schools and companies but also during events and in temporary infrastructure. There was a bill around indoor air quality in event venues but it has not yet been translated into concrete (and feasible) measures. Given the elections, it probably won’t be on the agenda again before 2025 either.

One thing that has already been decided though is the quality label that manufacturers and importers of air purification systems will have to apply to the FPS Public Health from 18 May 2024. If you are thinking of investing in an adapted air purification system anyway, make sure the installation you choose has the appropriate accreditations. The FPS Public Health will publish a guide with practical information and a list of accredited installations in summer 2024.
