Chef Ralf Berendsen and team are proud to announce that they have retained their second
Michelin star for the eighth consecutive year. It recognizes the ongoing commitment to culinary
quality and warm hospitality at restaurant Ralf Berendsen, located in the picturesque 5-star
superior hotel La Butte aux Bois in Lanaken.
The culinary journey
Since starting at La Butte aux Bois in 2011, Berendsen has made a remarkable journey in the gastronomic world.
Receiving his first Michelin star in 2013 and adding a second in 2017, he has established himself as a leading figure of
culinary innovation and quality. In 2023, he proudly joined Les Grandes Tables du Monde.
Unique gastronomic experience
Located in the heart of the hotel, restaurant Ralf Berendsen offers a unique setting for an unforgettable culinary experience. With stunning views over the gardens of the classic manor house and the possibility of enjoying the terrace in
summer, every dish is a moment of pure enjoyment. In 2021, the restaurant underwent a complete interior renovation, focusing on the chef’s vision, and the former La Source restaurant was renamed the Ralf Berendsen restaurant.
Guests can be delighted by Berendsen’s signature dishes such as langoustine, scallop or pigeon. Each dish reflects
the chef’s years of passion and expertise, refined to perfection.
