Recently, I was on my way to Ibiza … finally. I have lived on Mallorca for several years now, yet I had never set foot on the illustrious island before… However, I will not soon forget my first encounter with Ibiza. As a means of transportation, I opted for the ferry from Palma. No worries though, Ibiza is easily accessible from Belgium. Tui Fly flies almost daily to ‘La Isla Bonita’.
Although the nickname for Ibiza is ‘La Isla Blanca’ or ‘The White Isle’, I’d rather settle for ‘La Isla Bonita’ or ‘The Beautiful Island’, the nomination which usually refers to Canary Island ‘La Palma’. Ibiza is not only beautiful, but a wildly popular island located in the Mediterranean Sea, known for its beautiful beaches, boisterous nightlife, and rich cultural heritage. Consequently, ‘La Isla Bonita’ is the perfect nickname for Ibiza in my opinion.
As a base from which to explore the island, I opted for the beautiful W Hotel Ibiza. The hotel is superbly located for visiting Ibiza. It is a five-star hotel, and it is well worth those stars. When I arrived by car, the valet parking boys were already ready to unload and park the car very quickly. I always appreciate that. Consequently, the vibe was immediately right!
Check-in at a hotel is another necessary evil. Long queues horrify me, but everything went very smoothly. Also, the upgrade to a suite was much appreciated.
Ibiza has a totally different vibe than Mallorca, and W Hotel Ibiza immediately puts you in the right mood. With lots of color palettes and flowers, you immediately feel at home. The hotel has 162 rooms, 126 guest rooms and 36 suites.
Catering
Those who enjoy fine dining are sure to find something to their liking in the hotel’s various restaurants: W Lounge & Bridge Bar, Wet Deck which surrounds the pool or the rooftop Glow, STEPS, foodies’ resto Fire, or beach restaurant Chiringuito Blue. So, there is something for everyone!
Meetings
It doesn’t all have to be leisure time in Ibiza. Meetings at W Hotel Ibiza are also possible, of course. After all, the hotel has an adaptable meeting room ‘Studio’ for up to 55 people. Larger meetings? Just a 15-minute walk away along the beach there is the ‘Palacio Congresos Ibiza’, a convention center with an auditorium capacity for 437 people.
By the way, I was extremely satisfied with the suite that was assigned to me. Very spacious room, with a splendid sea view, separate lounge with smart TV, king size bed with another separate TV. Beautiful bathroom with rain shower… the right care products for hair and body. In short, a top destination.
Hospitality
I also want to stress how important hospitality is. Getting a good feeling in a hotel is not only due to the luxury or appearance of the hotel. But also, through its staff, and I do want to dwell on that, from valet parking to housekeeping. Everyone walked around with a big smile, hospitality is a priority at W Hotel Ibiza.
W Hotel Ibiza is a nice place, I was only satying for a few days, but this could easily have been longer. I wouldn’t have mind. Also, the pool is fantastic, Ibiza vibes all the way. And of course, a well-equipped gym and relaxing spa cannot be missing in a hotel of this standing.
The island of Ibiza is a must visit with its countless bars, restaurants, and beautiful bays, and everywhere you go you are immediately swept up in the ‘La Isla Bonita’ vibe.
I fell in love with Ibiza in 5 days, although there was another reason for this as well (smile) …
W Hotel Ibiza is an absolute must if you want to visit the island in the right vibe. I will return! – Wood Approved.
