Namasté! Het Witte Paard presents ‘Zen Aan Zee’: a new cheerful and comical afternoon show with strong music, hilarious sketches and international circus acts for the whole family.
Young and old alike will enjoy a remarkable matinee show with a strong and surprising cast, whose first names were announced today.
Pure entertainment in the afternoon show
With ‘Zen Aan Zee’, the Witte Paard Theatre targets all ages for the first time. Young and old are welcome for family entertainment pur sang. For Cheval Blanc Productions, this is a new step towards bringing year-round top entertainment. Producer of Het Witte Paard, Ben Van den Keybus, is proud of the innovations: ‘Zen Aan Zee will be an unmissable summer show for all ages, with a wonderful cast of absolute professionals who know perfectly how to make a variety show even better. We are breaking new ground, but staying true to the DNA of The White Horse. We sign for excellent singing voices, the best international acts and a dazzling show ballet. And above all: lots of humour. The new cast is super-motivated to give loyal and new audiences a dazzling show. Bring the whole family along this summer and become ‘Zen by the Sea’ thanks to the White Horse’.
Ingeborg & Christophe ‘Bartje’ Stienlet together on stage
This summer, none other than Ingeborg shines on stage during ‘Zen By The Sea’. For more than 30 years, Ingeborg has been a popular singer, presenter and yoga and meditation teacher. Did you know that Ingeborg has her roots in cabaret and is therefore completely at home in the world of variety? She scored a string of big hits with ‘Verlangen’, ‘Door De Wind’ and ‘Als Dat Gebeurt’, among others. As presenter of VTM programmes such as ‘Blind Date’, ‘All You Need is Love’ or ‘Wondere Wereld’, she achieved high viewing figures. Her drive, enthusiasm and passion make her a welcome guest on talent shows and talk shows. She was the tastemaker of ‘De Verraders’ this autumn.
Several generations of Flemish children grew up with her craziest adventures during ‘Schuif Af!’ on Sunday mornings. Het Witte Paard in Blankenberge is bringing her back this summer for the first time together with Christophe Stienlet. The talented actor and comedian is also known as ‘Bartje’ from ‘Schuif Af!’, so it will be a happy reunion. Christophe starred in some of the most popular Flemish fiction series ever, such as ‘Witse’, ‘Thuis’, ‘Familie’, ‘Flikken’, ‘Spoed’ and ‘Vermist’ and showed his comedic talent in ‘Verschoten & Zoon’ and ‘Foute Vrienden’, among others.
Zen Aan Zee brings nostalgia and innovation
This golden couple ensures hilarity during the sketches of ‘Zen Aan Zee’. Main character Ingeborg ends up in the most comical and annoying situations during her search for the ultimate tranquillity by the sea. Slide down the slide with Ingeborg and Christophe ‘Bartje’ Stienlet and hunt for prey in Blind Date. Thus, ‘Zen aan Zee’ effortlessly links nostalgia to innovation: a fresh and contemporary show, full of nods to reference points from the collective memory. Topical sketches are the comic guide and are deployed as tributes to the coryphées in the cast who roll from one misunderstanding into another surprise.
Ingeborg says: ‘The White Horse, which is pure entertainment, relaxation and joyful connection. I am thrilled to be able to climb on stage during ‘Zen Aan Zee’ with such a strong team including Christophe, with whom I made so many episodes of Schuif Af! We already have lots of ideas around hilarious sketches, beautiful music and lots of variety’.
Musical delights and big names
Of course, the beautiful voices of Lissa Lewis and David Vandyck cannot be missing during Summer 2025. Lissa Lewis has been on stage since a young age and was nominated for Radio 2 summer hit with both ‘Golden Smile’ and ‘It Seems like Summer’. At Het Witte Paard, she grew into a leading lady with a powerful voice and plenty of stage presence. With six albums, David Vandyck is a fixture in the Belgian music scene and the afternoon shows at Het Witte Paard. Hits like ‘I Live For You’, ‘Light on the Other Side’ or ‘Look At Me’ scored at home and abroad. The biggest fan of that new cast? Jacky Lafon. Prioritising her health, she is taking a break: ‘At the beginning of September, I gave notice to skip a year, and the producer then got a dream cast together for the afternoon show. For my 60th anniversary in 2026, I dream of a run of sixty shows in Het Witte Paard, I am already looking forward to that immensely. ‘Zen Aan Zee’ at Het Witte Paard will be magnificent, with all wonderful artists, and I wish them a lot of success’.
Visual spectacle will be brought by the dancers of the Vegas Showdancers and some carefully selected international circus acts will complete the scene. And get ready, because new, big names will be unloaded even before Christmas.
There are shows from 27 July to 20 September, each time at 2pm in the afternoon.
