Mallorca Loves Mice – Interview with Adolfo, Director Sales & Marketing of Hotel Jumeirah Port Sóller

Recently, Natalie Tempelers, Sales Manager from Eventonline, attended the ‘Mallorca loves MICE’ congress at the Palma Congress Center on the Balearian island. There, she had a chat with Adolfo G. Almagro, the Director of Sales & Marketing of Hotel Jumeirah Port Sóller. This hotel is an exquisite venue right in the middle of a UNESCO Heritage site, i.e. Sierra de Tramontana, a mountain range running southwest–northeast which forms the northern backbone of the island. Furthermore, the Hotel Jumeirah Port Sóller is currently being considered as the temporary home base for the 2021 edition of #micellorca, Eventonline’s cycling event for all people MICE.

“Jumeirah is currently in the process of increasing its portfolio,” explains Adolfo Almagro. “Currently, we have 23 properties worldwide. However, the main focus so far has been in the Middle East because that’s where the company originates from. We are fully aware of the flagship of the company, which is the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah in Dubai, which is the number one property in the Middle East as well.”

The Jumeirah Group chooses to open properties in special locations. Hence the choice for  Port Sóller, in the Sierra de Tramontana. “There is always something special about the properties of the Jumeirah Group,” claims the Director of Sales & Marketing. “It’s part of the luxury experience that Jumeirah offers to its guests. And that’s one of the reasons that we are there. It’s a UNESCO Heritage site and it’s truly breathtaking. Waking up looking at the Sierra de Tramontana is an amazing moment. Here, you have the opportunity to see the most beautiful sunsets on the island. This fact combined with the high-quality service, the attention to detail and all the beautiful facilities we provide to our customers makes each stay in our hotel in Mallorca a memorable experience.”

The hotel  boasts 120 bedrooms and three different restaurants. “From Asian cuisine to Mediterranean into a signature restaurant where we focus on the farm-to-table cuisine, where the quality of the product is the most valuable, very simple and straightforward,” adds Adolfo Almagro. “Not too complicated because we want to bring the flavors and the quality of the product itself on the plate of our guests.”

The hotel also has a 2,000 sqm Spa at the ground floor with 11 treatment rooms, a kids club and three swimming pools. “Furthermore, we provide to all our guest that unique Jumeirah experience. We also offer our guests plenty of activities, like trekking, hiking, cycling.”

Via Eventonline’s MICE platform Hotel Jumeirah Port Sóller wants to target the Belgian market. “For us it’s a great opportunity,” says the Director of Sales. “We feel that it is a perfect match with Jumeirah due not only to the purchasing power but also the purchasing behavior of the Belgian customers. They actually have the means and the budget for our properties. We are not a big conference hotel. The best fit would be for groups of 80 to 100 persons. Our hotel is the perfect venue for small to medium-sized VIP high-end corporate events where clients are looking for a unique experience in a top property.”

The fact that Hotel Jumeirah Port Sóller is being considered as the official hotel for #micellorca21 is applauded by Adolfo Almagro. “I cannot think of a better place than Sierra de Tramontana as an exciting setting for an amazing bicycle tour. Many cycling aficionados enjoy these mountains immensely. It will be an exhilarating experience for all participants. I keep my fingers crossed”, Almagro ends.
